The Shadows - Apache

The Shadows are an English instrumental and vocal rock and roll group from the 50's .

"Apache" is an instrumental written by Jerry Lordan.

It has been recorded by many artists, but the first released version was recorded by British group The Shadows in June 1960 and released the following month.

The song topped the UK singles chart for five weeks.

This was written by the husband and wife team of Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, who wrote most of The Everly Brothers songs in the '50s. Their songs were also recorded by Bob Dylan, Elvis, and Buddy Holly.

This is about a young couple who fall asleep at the drive-in, realize they are out past curfew, and make up a story to tell Susie's parents.

Some Boston radio stations banned this because of the lyrics. At the time, staying out late with a girl was a little controversial.

For The Everly Brothers, this was the first of 4 US #1 hits. It also went to #1 on the Country & Western charts.

At an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show while campaigning for President in year 2000, George W. Bush was asked by Oprah what his favorite song was. He said: "Wake Up Little Susie - by Buddy Holly."

Simon and Garfunkel played this at their 1981 concert in Central Park. The live recording was released as a single the next year and hit #27 in the US.

Chet Atkins played guitar on this. Atkins, who died of cancer in 2001, was a Nashville musician who created a distinctive sound using a 3-fingered picking technique.

Taylor Swift is a very talented and beautiful young lady.

Her voice is just beautiful and I love how she handles herself.

Its nice to have someone like her for kids to look up to.

I am also impressed how she has taken a hand in writting the songs.

GAGA is a performance artist, and a lot of people don't get that - they take an artist literally when there are several different levels that artist is operating on.

It's different and not mainstream, but then again David Bowie's act wasn't mainstream back when he was doing glam rock - he brought it into the mainstream - much like what she's doing. "Starstruck" is a very radio-friendly little tune.

Carey Hart is the guy shes singing to with the black and blond hair, he's a motocross star.

They got married a few years back and divorced earlier this year.

I guess the song shows that , in reality, they're still friends...

New Album 2009 - Kings Of Leon

Three brothers (and one cousin) formed 'Kings of Leon'.

The young band established in Europe and they began to build a following in their homeland after securing support slots on tours with U2 and The Strokes.

This album proved to be the band's biggest release, debuting at number 25 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and this week No. 1 in the BBC chart in the U.K.

Wham tried to be "bad" but didn't quite make it.

If This Is Love - next summer hit ?

The Saturdays new hit is very hot in UK.
Their voices are weak and this song is nothing special.
They don't even deserve to be in the top ten in the BBC chart.
I think you might as well get anyone off the streets these days.
Those girls are just poor singers.
The same goes for girls aloud.
Is this the best talent that we have to offer?
Well I'm not impressed.

Gabriella Cilmi is so sweet !!!

She apparently gets a lot of help from Brian Higgins and Miranda Cooper, the guys who wrote all the Girls Aloud songs, some Suga Babes stuff, and Believe by Cher amoungst other things.

Not to take anything away from GC though, that voice is incredible, I'm sure songs that are all her own maybe just aren't so radio-friendly (by no means a criticism).

She reminds me alittle of Amy Winehouse... what do you think ??
