'Guess whos coming to dinner' - I love this movie--today I first saw the movie .
It has so much to say about humanity and cold judgement.
Sydney was the first one who predicted a black president, not to mention condoleza rice, a prediction we could have done without i might add, not because she was black but because she was a bush henchwoman.
I think that Poitier is one of the ten best actors of all time.
"Plan for Change" is a two-minute advertisement in which President Obama will speak directly to the nation on his view of the state of the economy and what he would do to fix it ...
However....back to the Sixties Paul has that incredible voice, but more impressive I don't understand how he can still shout like that at more than 60!
This version of the song is better than any cover from other bands (U2 or whatever).
And better than other versions from himself as well.
John wanted to change the world , Paul wanted to entertain , but George just wanted to make music.
He wrote some of the Beatles' best songs: "Here Comes the Sun" , "Something" , "Blue Jay Way", "Within You, Without You", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Taxman".
The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps :
While My Guitar Gently Weeps Acoustic George Harrison :
Gerry & The Pacemakers rivalled the Beatles early in their career, playing in the same areas of Hamburg, Germany and Liverpool, England.
Thier first hit in early 1963 "How Do You Do It?", a Mitch Murray written song that both Adam Faith and the Beatles had turned down , was a smashing hit and reached No.1 in the charts.
But specially they are now best known for their version of "You'll Never Walk Alone," which has become the anthem for Liverpool Football Club in England.
Liverpool's fans sing along to the song before every match at Anfield, their home stadium.
The original 'You'll Never Walk Alone' by Gerry & The Pacemakers :
Watch the fans of Liverpool FC singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone':
Rattle & Hum is the soundtrack to U2 in their 1987 tour through America. The album is a mix of live tracks and studio recordings.
Another use of the word "Rattle" was by late John Lennon as he and The beatles performed at the Royal Variety Performance, London in 4 November 1963.
He presented thier last number : "For our last number , i'd like to ask your help. For the people in the cheaper seats - clap your hands...and the rest of you , if you just rattle your jewllery..."
The group has actually succeeded in recreating themselves again... and the change is delightful.
Every time I listen to, "In Rainbows," I imagine myself relaxing on a gorgious beach watching the sun set into the neon glow of the horizon.
Compared to other Radiohead albums I actually prefer this one.
Watch the wonderfull videoclip from the 1996 French film "Microcosmos". The sensual pace and delicate melody of the song reminded me of a world much smaller than ours :
Our beloved beatle star Paul McCartney had a secret heart surgery last autumn , while he was embroiled in an ongoing divorce battle with Heather Mills.
His recovery was quick enough to perform with Kylie Minogue on Jools Holland's BBC Two New Year special.
Can’t understand why Phil Collins hasn't been knighted.
In my opinion, he is on par with Sir Elton John. His song, "Another Day In Paradise" talks about homelessness. We don't hear much about that issue in music. In my opinion, his rendition of "True Colors" is better than Cyndi Lauper's with the Collins touch. The beautiful song "Two Hearts" Is worth at least an Oscar. Phil's voice is outstanding tool and has a great range from pop rock to smooth ballads like "Against All Odds" and "I Wish It Would Rain Down". Another anecdote - Phil appeared in The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night as one of hundreds of screaming teenagers during the climactic concert sequence.
At the 80's ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney sang 2 duets with his
fellow musical superstars , Michael Jackson & Stevie Wonder.
''Say Say Say,'' his duet with Michael Jackson ,
got the benefit of better song, slightly more nonsensical and a funny video.
The other duet ''Ebony & Ivory''with Stevie Wonder was extraordinery touching along with the performance of the two Oracles of music. Whoever directed that music video dressed them with black and white clothes and it was nice to see them like that.
